Terms and Conditions
ECOSSE CARAVAN SERVICES LTD
TERMS & CONDITIONS 2025/2026
Ecosse Caravan Services Ltd, Terms & Conditions of Service
These Terms & Conditions apply to all work carried out by Ecosse Caravan Services Ltd (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By booking or allowing work to proceed, the customer (“you”, “your”) agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
1. General
Ecosse Caravan Services Ltd is a sole-trader / one-man business providing caravan, motorhome, horsebox, welfare-unit, and associated inspection, servicing, diagnostic, and repair services. All work is carried out in good faith, with safety and compliance as the priority.
While every reasonable effort is made to stay informed of applicable legislation, standards, and manufacturer guidance, services are provided based on professional experience, industry best practice, and the information available at the time of inspection.
2. Estimates, Quotes & Pricing
-
Estimates are provided in good faith based on visible and known information at the time.
-
Estimates are not fixed prices unless expressly stated in writing.
-
Additional labour, investigation, data collection, parts, or remedial work may be required once work has commenced or systems are dismantled.
-
Any additional work identified will be explained where reasonably possible.
3. Investigation, Diagnostics & Chargeable Labour
Fault finding, diagnostics, investigation, testing, inspection, and data collection are chargeable labour activities. Time spent diagnosing or assessing faults is payable regardless of whether a repair is authorised or completed.
Mileage, travel time, consumables, and other associated charges may also apply where applicable.
Not all faults are visible or identifiable without investigation, dismantling, or testing.
4. Certification, Safety & Compliance
Where safety inspections, habitation checks, gas safety inspections, or landlord gas safety certificates are requested, certification is conditional upon full compliance at the time of inspection.
The Company cannot and will not issue certification where safety or compliance requirements are not met.
5. Carbon Monoxide & Safety Alarms (Certification Requirement)
Where a gas safety inspection or landlord gas safety certification is requested:
-
Compliant carbon monoxide (CO) alarms must be installed in all areas where gas appliances are located, in accordance with current safety requirements.
-
Certification cannot be issued unless these requirements are met.
If alarms are missing, incorrectly positioned, non-compliant, out of date, or unsuitable, the Company reserves the right to install suitable alarms on the day in order to complete certification.
5.1 Customer-Supplied Alarms
-
Where customers supply their own alarms, inspection and verification of installation, manufacture date, positioning, and compliance is chargeable.
-
Inspection or installation of customer-supplied alarms is not included within the standard certification price.
-
Any such charges may be waived at the Company’s discretion but should not be assumed.
To avoid delays, non-compliance, or additional costs, alarms are normally supplied and fitted on the day as part of the certification process.
6. Additional Work Identified During Inspection
During servicing, inspection, or certification, issues may be identified that:
-
We’re not visible prior to attendance
-
Relate to previous workmanship
-
Present safety or compliance concerns
Any investigation, testing, rectification, or additional labour required to address such issues is chargeable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
-
Providing safe, clear, and suitable access to the vehicle or unit
-
Ensuring lockers, cupboards, and access panels are accessible
-
Informing the Company of any known faults, modifications, or customer-supplied parts prior to work commencing
Where work is being carried out on a static caravan, certain inspections, diagnostics, or repairs may require access underneath the caravan. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure suitable and safe access is available. If access underneath the caravan is restricted, unsafe, or not possible, this may prevent diagnosis or repair from being completed.
Time spent attending site, attempting access, carrying out investigation, or assessing limitations is still chargeable, even if the repair cannot be completed due to access restrictions.
8. Parts & Materials
-
Parts supplied by the Company remain the property of Ecosse Caravan Services Ltd until paid for in full.
-
Customer-supplied parts are fitted at the customer’s risk and may not be covered by warranty.
-
Special-order parts are non-returnable unless faulty.
9. Payment Terms
-
Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
-
Certification documents may be withheld until payment is received.
-
Late or non-payment may result in further charges or recovery action.
10. Liability
-
All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill.
-
The Company is not responsible for pre-existing faults, hidden defects, corrosion, age-related failure, or issues caused by previous work.
-
No liability is accepted for consequential or indirect losses.
11. Complaints & Communication
-
Complaints should be made in writing by email to allow proper review and response.
-
The Company aims to resolve disputes fairly and professionally.
-
Abusive or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated.
12. Media & Documentation
-
Photographs may be taken for records, certification, or evidence of work carried out.
-
Images may be used for marketing or educational purposes unless the customer objects in writing.
13. Acceptance
By booking, authorising, or allowing work to proceed, the customer confirms they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
14. Manufacturer Warranty Work
Where work is carried out on behalf of a manufacturer, supplier, or third party under a warranty arrangement, the customer acknowledges that:
-
Warranty providers often do not pay the Company’s full standard hourly labour rate.
-
Warranty providers may not cover travel time, mileage, diagnostics, investigation, or associated costs.
-
Any shortfall between the warranty payment and the Company’s standard charges may be charged to the customer.
Any costs not covered by the warranty provider remain the responsibility of the customer unless agreed otherwise in writing prior to work being carried out.
