Electrical Test and Inspection

Is your Motorhome over 3 years old? Do you remember when it had its last Electrical Inspection?

At Ecosse Caravan Services Ltd., we provide an essential service known as the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), which plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and of your motorhome.

Our service is billed at a competative hourly rate of £60 plus VAT, and the time required for the inspection can vary based on the size of your motorhomes installation and the specific equipment that needs to be tested.

Although the testing is not, compulsory we strongly encourage it, as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) recommends that motorhome's undergo inspection and testing at least once every three years.

This is particularly important because the nature of motorhome travel—being driven on the road—can lead to vibrations that may loosen connections or cause damage to components over time.

By utilizing our specialized testing equipment, we can effectively identify any potential issues, ensuring that you and others remain safe while on the road. Remember, this important test can be performed before your annual service or at any time you feel necessary.

Your safety is our top priority!

Underslung Gas Tank Inspections & Preservation.

We are excited to announce our new service dedicated to the annual inspection and maintenance of fixed LPG tanks installed in motorhomes and leisure accommodations!

As underslung gas tanks have become increasingly common in various vehicles, from custom home builds to professionally manufactured motorhomes and campers, it is essential to prioritize their safety and compliance. Until now, these tanks have not been routinely checked during MOT or habitation inspections, which poses a significant safety concern not only for you but also for those who may be nearby.

Ecosse Caravan Services Ltd. has recently completed the necessary training to ensure we can provide comprehensive inspections and maintenance for these vital components. Don’t take chances with safety—contact us today to schedule your inspection and ensure peace of mind for your travels!

Your build or Project

Regarding your self-build project! We are excited to assist you in ensuring that your installation is checked and certified. It’s fantastic that you are taking the initiative to prioritize safety. However, based on our experience, we have found that many installations do not meet the necessary safety standards or gas regulations, which has led to us being unable to pass a significant number of installations.

Before we can proceed with any work, we kindly request that you provide us with several important pieces of information.

Specifically,

  • We would like to see images of your build,

  • The equipment specification sheets,

  • Calculations for all ventilation (or, if those are not available, please indicate where the vents are located and their sizes), Minimum requirement for a very small caravan is 2000mm upper and 1000mm lower just to give you an idea.

  • Details on what the installation is intended to be used for, and

  • Information about the insulation used.

If you are unable to provide any of this information, that’s perfectly fine! We can help you gather the necessary details for an additional charge on top of the gas test.

Please keep in mind that we have a minimum charge of £85.00, regardless of whether the gas test is conducted. Should you choose to proceed with the gas test and certain items do not pass, you will receive paperwork that indicates the failures. In cases where the installation is deemed totally unsafe, we will issue warning notices to ensure your safety.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to assisting you!

This is all for you saftey and others
